THE PHYTOCHEMISTRY OF HARITAKI
Haritaki is well-known for being one of the three ingredients in Triphala, but it also has noteworthy benefits on its own. The fruits contain important bioactive constituents such as hydrolysable tannins, chebulagic acid, chebulinic acid, and corilagin. They are also naturally rich in tannins, which give them their predominant bitter and astringent taste.*
